FHS CONNECT is the Forest Hill School secure online portal.
Once you receive your login details you will be able to log in to FHS Connect, our secure onlne portal. We are currently issuing all parents and carers with new usernames and passwords.
Once logged in you will be able to access the following information about your child:
- Registered contacts - you will be able to see who is registered as a contact for your child. Please note, you must contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need to make any amendments to contact information.
- Timetable - you can see details of your son's lessons for each day and his teachers' names.
- Attendance - you can see your son's attendance records and any reasons for absence.
- Reports- you can view and download your child's school reports.

ABSENCE DURING TERM TIME
Parents and carers should be aware of amendments to the Education Regulations that came into force on 1 September 2013 which make clear that Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are "exceptional circumstances".

HOW CAN I HELP MY SON IMPROVE HIS READING SKILLS?
Parents and carers will know that we are proud to call ourselves a reading school, and our Librarian, Ms Webb, has produced a handy reading guide full of useful advice and links to other resources that parents and carers can use at home with their son(s).

HOW CAN I HELP MY SON IMPROVE HIS MATHS SKILLS?
MyMaths is an opportunity for your son to continue his maths learning outside of the classroom.
It is an online learning platform with content that covers the KS3, KS4 and KS5 maths curriculum in a clear and innovative way.
Your son can take advantage of:
Online maths tutorials which explain all the key maths skills
Online worksheets which tell him where he has made mistakes
Booster packs to help him get to the next level
A variety of games that reinforce and stretch your maths skills in a fun way
Your son also has his own personal page where his teacher can upload different activities for him to complete in class and for homework and he can keep track of how well he is doing in MyMaths.

Your son will also have his own personal ID and password which he will need to enter then. If for some reason he has misplaced this please ask him to see his maths teacher.
Please encourage him to use this platform as often as possible to improve his maths skills!

Year 11 students should be using the PiXL Maths App to help with GCSE revision.

CYCLING TO SCHOOL
Boys are allowed to use their bikes to cycle to and from school only with the permission of the Headteacher.
Parents/carers are asked to write in requesting the issue of a Cycle Pass for their son. Click here to see a generic version of the cycle pass letter.
Please note that the school cannot accept any responsibility for bikes left on school premises.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS/ PUPIL PREMIUM
If your child is eligible for free school meals, not only could you save £400 a year while they enjoy a nutritious hot meal, but the school could also benefit.

GCSE MATHS PODCASTS
Maths podcasts on a variety of topics are available to download here.
Year 10 and 11 students are strongly recommended to listen to the podcasts to help reinforce learning during revision for exams.
ACADEMIC REVIEW DAYS
At Academic Review Days you will meet your son's Tutor or Head of House to discuss his progress and any areas of concern. You must make an appointment via your son beforehand. Appointments take place during the school day.
Please note: you will not meet subject teachers at Academic Review Day.

At Parents' Evening you will be able to speak to your son's teachers to discuss his progress and any areas of concern. Appointment times must be booked in advance - your son will bring home an appointment sheet beforehand.
Parents' evenings run from 4:00pm - 6:30pm.
